1. Purpose of the Document

NBFCs need to integrate with many third party services for completing their CRM and LOS journeys. In a typical implementation, anywhere from 20 to 75+ integrations are involved. Thinqloud has developed a very robust Integration framework solution on Salesforce to cater specifically to straight through processing for Loan Origination System (LOS) implementations. Typical third party service examples are KYC, PAN verification, Bank verification, Credit Bureau Check, Statement Analyzer, Negative lists etc.

2. Integration Architecture Overview

The LOS architecture has been designed to support a middleware-first integration approach, wherein ~90% of the APIs are managed through a robust middleware (API Gateway) layer. This ensures:

• Loose coupling between the Salesforce platform and external systems.
• Scalability and resilience, allowing external API changes to be managed at the middleware without impacting Salesforce codebase.
• Monitoring and retry mechanisms to enhance operational efficiency.
• Secure, version-controlled interaction with third-party services.

3. Integration Classification Table

Classification Rationale:

Major: High-frequency usage, critical to application processing or compliance.

Minor: Supportive, low-usage or fallback integrations.

5. Key Design Highlights

• Middleware Integration Layer: Centralized handling of external APIs.
• Manual Override: Available for critical services through UI workflows.
• Future-proof: Easy vendor swaps and sandbox simulations without Salesforce dependency.

6. Integration Governance & Change Management

• List of All Connected Services: We maintain a master list of all systems that are connected to LOS, so we always know what's linked and how.
• Safe Updates via Middleware: Any changes to the connected systems are handled carefully through a middle layer. This way, we can test periodic updates without affecting the live system right away.
• Automatic Retry: If something fails (like a temporary network issue), the system tries again automatically.
• Manual Backup Option: For all major services, if the automatic system doesn’t work for any reason, users can step in and complete the task manually without delays.
